The John H. Moore Farm
In the fall of 2015 Metro Parks of Nashville and Davidson County asked Dr. Carroll Van West, Director of the MTSU Center for Historic Preservation and the Tennessee State Historian, for an assessment of the significance, conditions, and potential public value of the newly acquired 179-acre Moore farm. As part of Dr. West's Seminar in Historic Preservation in the Spring of 2016, the class was required to prepare a complete assessment of the history and the preservation needs of the property. With another student, I assessed and prioritized the needs of a structure to prepare a needs assessment and preservation reccommendations for the main residence on the Moore Farm, a bungalow built in 1931.
